But copy those two files to an existing macOS system, or a USB stick, or any Windows system, or email them, and the copy will fail as the file systems are not case sensitive, so it seems to be the same file twice. Now in Unix and APFS, that isn't an issue, these are two files with different names. There were two files in the folder, called something like: I came across the kind of issue that users may encounter (if using case sensitive) when copying a folder from a UNIX system recently. I'm not clear whether upgraded systems will be case sensitive or not. The benefits seem very limited, and the potential problems for users seem significant. I can't understand why Apple are doing this (APFS).
